Modernizing a Faculty Training Space for Collaboration
Kent Intermediate School District needed to transform an aging faculty training room into a modern collaboration space that could support today’s educational and professional needs. The existing room relied on an outdated short-throw projector that struggled to produce a bright image with the lights on, offered no simple bring-your-own-device (BYOD) experience, and lacked the technology required for effective video conferencing or hybrid training sessions. In addition, the room had no voice lift system, no wireless presentation capabilities, and had become increasingly difficult for staff to use without technical assistance.
Enhance AVL completely redesigned the room from the ground up. The old projector, whiteboard, outdated wiring, and floor-mounted hardware were removed to create a cleaner, more professional environment. The new system centers around a Q-SYS platform, providing intuitive room control, automated source switching, video conferencing, voice lift, and audio distribution. A new ATS Pro TaylorLEDs Collaborate Series 108 display replaced the aging projector, delivering a bright, high-resolution image that remains visible even with the room lights on. Wireless presentation through ScreenBeam, BYOD connectivity with INOGENI solutions, Sennheiser SpeechLine Dante microphones, and a full UniFi networking infrastructure ensure the room is ready for presentations, meetings, training sessions, and hybrid collaboration.
Every design decision focused on long-term reliability, ease of use, and flexibility. Q-SYS was selected for its stability and ability to unify audio, video, control, and conferencing into a single platform. ATS Pro provided exceptional image quality at an outstanding value, while Sennheiser SpeechLine microphones deliver clear, professional speech reinforcement backed by industry-leading support. UniFi networking and Lowell rack infrastructure provide a dependable foundation for the entire system.
The result is a true turnkey meeting space that is simple enough for virtually anyone to operate while providing enterprise-level capabilities behind the scenes. Faculty can walk into the room, wirelessly share content from nearly any device, launch video conferences, conduct professional training sessions, and enjoy consistent audio coverage throughout the space—all with an intuitive touch interface. What was once an outdated presentation room is now a flexible collaboration environment built to serve Kent ISD for years to come.
